Family Winemakers represents over 750 wineries, vineyards and affiliated businesses in the legislative and regulatory arena, direct shipping litigation participation and funding, and domestic wine market development. The association also hosts the two largest tastings of California wine each year in Pasadena and San Francisco.

Corbin Counsel

R. Corbin Houchins brings more than thirty-six years of experience as a beverage attorney to counseling suppliers of wine, beer and spirits and their attorneys. He is author of Notes on Wine Distribution and a frequent lecturer and media commentator on matters of interest to the industry. Corbin held corporate counsel positions at E & J Gallo Winery and Olympia Brewing Company, with responsibility for trademark, copyright, patent, and trade secret protection programs, for antitrust counseling, and for legal compliance in packaging, advertising trade practices and distributor relations. His nationally known private practice focuses on the interests of producers, brand owners, innovative retailers and other suppliers of wine, beer and spirits in market entry, distribution, regulatory compliance and other areas in which licensed beverage issues arise. He also lectures on beverage law at continuing legal education seminars and Seattle University Law School and has authored numerous articles and practice aids in the field. Corbin is a member of the bars of California and Washington and, pursuant to applicable bar rules for multijurisdictional representation, represents clients before administrative agencies in numerous states.
